August 25th, 2023
- The first week went great and I enjoyed learning to get to know your children and learning their interests. Thank you to all you who are raising them to become such interesting and smart children.
August 22nd, 2023
- I'm back in the classroom in the afternoons during the 2023 - 2024 year. I will be the Grade 2 Math, Science, and Socials teacher, and continuing my role as Math help and Religious Education coordinator. I look forward to being back in a regular classroom again.
September 6th, 2022
- Hopefully you all had a great summer. I wanted to inform any readers that I am not in the Grade 2 classroom this year. I will be updating my site as I do projects with students in other grades at Holy Family throughout the year.
June 15th, 2022
- Tomorrow - June 16th, 2022 - will be the last day of Grade 2. Report Cards will be handed out tomorrow, and if you can pick up your child at 2:45, then your family can start their summer vacation at early dismissal. Bus students will have to wait for their bus.
June 9th, 2022
- Today I handed out another copy of each student's prodigy account. I will maintain the accounts over the summer, so if your child wants to use it over the summer so they can maintain their numeracy and LA skills (as there is a new Prodigy English if you sign in through Chrome), they can.
June 1st, 2022
- Thank you to all Grade 2s who tried their best at today's spelling bee! You are all winners in my eyes for trying! Way to go!
May 31th, 2022
- Our spelling bee will be tomorrow at 9 AM. It is optional. Students are encouraged to try if they want to.
May 19th, 2022
- As I'm sure you know by now, masking in schools and buses will be optional starting on Tuesday, May 24th. So, starting Tuesday, students no longer have to wear masks if they don't want to. It is wholly optional. Just FYI, I will still be wearing mine as there are very few teachers on call available so if I get sick, my students won't see me for two weeks and they will have a sub - which, seeing as its end of the school year and the last few weeks of school, I'd miss seeing the students finish Grade 2.
May 13th, 2022
- All-Day-Play-Day was a success. Very few tears and not as loud as I thought it would be. We will be working on the following weeks to earn enough points to get another All-Day-Play-Day before the end of Grade 2.
May 12th, 2022
I have decided that tomorrow we will finally have our ‘all-day-play-day’.
What does this mean?
What this means is that tomorrow there is no “class-class”. Students will get to play, build, create, and find the time to be bored (its okay to be bored because pushing through boredom allows for growth and creativity).
Students can wear PJs and bring one medium stuffy (stuffed animal that can fit easily in a backpack). Keep in mind that it is a classroom with 22 students so it might get a bit grubby.
There will be NO screen time tomorrow. In the afternoon, we will watch movie.
The movie will be a movie on Disney+ that is G rated.
If your child has a card game to bring to that they want to show or play, they can do so if they (and you) are okay with it.
If you have any questions, please let me know and I will respond ASAP.

The NEW swim dates are:
May 3, 4, 5 and 10, 11, 12 - Bring a swim gear, a towel, goggles if you need it, and EXTRA SNACKS. (Kids get super-hungry after swimming).
and the new cost is $36.

This is NOT an April Fool's Day joke.

- I have told the Grade 2s that if they wish to bring in some small toys (stuffies, lego figures, etc...) to make some stop motion animation movies during this last week, they can do so. If not, we have stuff here they can use. It MUST fit in their backpack with their lunch kit and planner and everything else they bring on a daily basis to school.

May 26th, 2021
- The weather has proven to be unpredictable. Please ensure your child is well dressed for the rain, snow, and sun (who knows what we are going to get at any second). We are heading outside early each day and children who don't have raincoats might get sick if they run around in the rain without something to protect them. Thank you.

May 18th, 2021
- There may be a hike tomorrow. Please have your children dress appropriately for whatever weather we may have between 10:30 - 11:30 Wednesday. Thank you!

April 13th, 2021
- Tomorrow, we will NOT be going on a hike. I, unfortunately, have a school-based team meeting and I need to be there. So, we will try next week. Also, its really wet and slippery anyways.

March 9th, 2021
- Tomorrow (Wednesday, March 19th, 2021) we might be going for a hike. Please ensure you child is well dressed.
- The three strikes rule is being carried over. The strikes would be erased overnight and reset. I have decided that they will stay for the entire week. What this means is that if a student has two strikes today, then they only have one more strike and they will lose their iPads/Computers/P.E./Recess for the day. The points will then be erased on Friday. Now, if everyone 'saves' their strikes for Friday at 2:50, then the strikes will carry over until Monday for that particular student. Any questions, please let me know via email and I will try to explain better.
March 8th, 2021
- Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 9th) is GREEN day (for Early St. Patricks); and Music (so students need a mask); and Library (so students need any overdue library books). Thank you!

- Have a happy Rendezvous Weekend!
- Be safe, have fun.
February 24th, 2021
- We had a wonderful hike today. It was difficult to get outside (there was a lot of whining) but in the end, we kind of enjoyed it and got to play on the ice. We also participated in Rendezvous activities from 12:50 - 2:30.
- Please try to include more snacks if possible. Many students seem to be going through a growth spurt and are constantly asking for food. Extra fruit, granola bars, etc...are always good.
February 23rd, 2021

- Have a great weekend!
February 18th, 2021
- Tomorrow will be an all day play day. Students can bring their slippers and pyjamas and good vibes to class tomorrow. We will be watching a VeggieTales movie tomorrow in the afternoon. Students are on a three strike rule, and if they get three strikes, they will lose their all day play and have to do work in the hallway while we're having fun in the classroom.
February 17th, 2021
- If you can, please have a quick conversation with your child about trying at school. Many students are saying "I don't want to read", "I don't want to go to gym", "I don't want to go to Music", "I don't want to go to library", "I don't want to do Math", "I don't want to go outside", etc...Remind them that there are things we like to do, and things that we have to do because it is our expected behaviour, our social contract, and that even in the best job in the world, there are things we don't like to do but we have to.
February 15th, 2021
- Tomorrow we *might* be going on a hike tomorrow. Please ensure that they are warmly dressed. Thank you.
February 10th, 2021
- If you are considering making Valentine's Day cards, please bring them on MONDAY. I will not be here on Friday, Feb. 12th. I have some minor surgery scheduled and will be out for the day. I sent an email last night to all Grade 2 grown ups (that have their email listed with the school).
February 9th, 2021
- We will more than likely NOT go an hike tomorrow, but please keep in mind that if it is -30, we will be outside for recess for about 10 minutes or so. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately.

February 02, 2021
- Please ensure your child is dressed warmly and appropriately. There are still students coming to school without proper mitts, jackets, buffs, etc...
January 29th, 2021
- Today was 100s Day! There are two posts for students in FreshGrade as of today. Have a look at it with your child when you have moment and have a discussion about what was easy, what was hard, what they learned, how the feel they did, etc...This is will help inform our conversations on the 4th and 5th of February.
- Have a great weekend!
January 27th, 2021
- We did not go on a hike today. It was too cold. Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately. Many students today forgot their hats, buffs, snow pants, etc...Regardless of the weather, we still go outside for recess for at least 10 minutes. Please keep this in mind when your child leaves for school in the morning. Thank you.
- Tomorrow we have Music. Please ensure your child has a mask to wear for those 30 minutes.
January 26th, 2021
- Tomorrow (Wednesday, Jan. 27th, 2021) we will probably be going on our hike around the pond in Porter Creek to see what we can see. January 25th, 2021
- Tomorrow we have Music and Library. Please ensure that your child has a mask for Music and if they have a library they are finished with, it should be returned tomorrow if possible.
January 22nd, 2021
- Today we say goodbye to Mr. Kim. He is moving up to Victoria Island, NWT to teach until June. We wish him the best and hope to see him eventually back down this way again (preferably at our school!)
- Homework for Grade 2s: Be kind to your grown ups. Help out without being asked/told. Get some sleep.
January 21st, 2021
- We will be having Library on Thursday. Please ensure your child returns all library books if they are finished reading them. Thank you.
January 20th, 2021
- We had a good hike today. The Grade 2s one the quiet game today (against Grade 1s) and therefore will get each get a small bag of chips tomorrow or Friday during Lunch. Those that did not go on the hike or were absent will not, unfortunately, get the reward this time.
- Tomorrow, we will be having Music. Please ensure that your child has a mask. If not, one will be provided for them.
- Reminder for Grown Ups to pack extra snacks and extra socks - especially on Wednesdays. We go will always go for a hike from 10:30 to around 11:20. The only time we cancel is when it is too windy and cold (or unsafe to do so).
- Please have a conservation with your child about what kindness in school could look like. There have been lots of arguments and hurt feeling lately. Remind them, if possible, that if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. Thank you for your support in helping me reinforce this maxim.
January 19th, 2021
- Tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 20th, 2021, we will be going for our hike around Porter Creek to see what we can see. Please have your child dress appropriately, and, if possible, bring extra snacks (many students are going through a growth spurt lately).

- I have sent home the FreshGrade permission form. FreshGrade is a digital portfolio service where I can upload videos and pictures of your child's learning and share it with you in real time. This will be my 3rd year doing FreshGrade, and it has been an invaluable resource that helps me show your child's progress, and create a learning dialogue between parents, teachers, and students. Please read the form and reach out if you have any questions. To be clear, FreshGrade is OPTIONAL. If you are interested, send back the form with email addresses you'd like to add, and I can set it up. You will only be able to see your OWN child's portfolio; this is not a comparative tool. If your child did not bring their planner today, I have included the pdf form that you can download below.
- I will be sending out a Survey Monkey link to participate in at some point this weekend. This will let me gauge what would work for you to schedule a class meeting. There are four questions (the 4th question being optional). It should take no more than 10 minutes to fill out and can be done via smartphone, tablet, and computer.
- Students brought home their masks (if they have one) and brought home their water bottles. Masks should be washed after each day of use, and water bottles should be washed each week. Thank you.
- Have a great long weekend!

- Great first day of class! The Grade 2 students are all amazing. It was so great to see so many eager learners today!

- If you child has their own personal mask, it is advisable that it is washed each day. The school has disposable ones available for students if they need one and forgot one, or is not dry yet.
- Grade 2 students will enter from the front door and exit from the front door. This will be their main entrance for now. This is to minimize the traffic in the boot room.
- If you have any concerns or comments, please feel free to email me, call me at the school, or go to the 'CONTACT' tab at the top of this page.

August 18th, 2020
- I am looking forward to seeing all my new students on Thursday!
- Just FYI, I will be wearing a non-medical mask to protect students. I have not travelled outside of Whitehorse since March 19th. I will wear a mask simply as an overabundance of caution. You may want to inform your children as to what can be expected. Many other teachers will be wear masks in the hallways and in spaces where social distancing is difficult. Thank you for understanding.
- If you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact me via this site (under the Contact tab); email me at [email protected]; or at the main school phone number.

- Today, a permission form went home for another swim. The swim will be this Friday morning. Sorry for the short notice. Students are more than welcome to bring their swim gear early and leave it here until Friday.
- There will be NO MINECRAFT for the entire month of March. The students lost the privilege during free time to play on openprocessing.org's Minecraft as some students (not all) are going around destroying other people's structures and attacking each other. Until each student can show me that they play on the game responsibly, all students will not be playing. I apologize for inconvenience.

Please ensure that your child has the proper swim gear (and permission form) at school in the morning - as I'm sure you don't want to race home during your lunch break and bring it to the school right? I mean, we are swimming at 9:45, but still - Its better to just pack it tonight so its ready to go.

- Wednesday Grade 2 will be hosting the Epiphany Mass. If you can come, feel free to do so. The Mass will start at 2 PM and last about 45 minutes (or thereabouts).
- Thank you to all parents and guardians who sent in their schedule preferences for next week's Student-Led Conferences. Our Admin Assistant will get back to you to confirm the time(s) requested.
- It is still very cold out, and it will continue to be cold all weekend (and for at least part of the next week). Please ensure that your child has the proper gear to go outside. Holy Family students ALL go outside for a period of time no matter what the weather is (all students are allowed to ask teachers to go into the boot room to warm up at any time).
January 9th, 2020
- A yellow letter went home today that talks about next week's Student-Led Conferences. There is a spot on the form that allows you to choose a time that you would like to come in and have your child show you there work. The sooner it is in, the more likely it is you will get your preferred time. If your child misplaced their form, or you child was not at school today, you can download it from the link below.

Once they perform they will come back to the classroom and do other activities. Children, unfortunately, will not be able to sit with their parents after they perform, as the gym is filled to capacity. Thank you for your understanding.

This note is to inform you the Grade 2 class has finally earned enough points to have an afternoon party.
This allows the students to bring their pyjamas to school and change into them after P.E.
Students are NOT to come to school wearing pyjamas.
Students may also bring two small stuffed animals. These animals MUST fit in their backpack and will only be taken out after P.E.
Students will be able to watch a VeggieTales movie in the afternoon.
I will try to make plain popcorn for tomorrow’s party.
Pyjamas and stuffed animals are not required. If your child forgets, it is okay. Once the class gets enough points for another class party, we will have another one.

- Sorry for the repeat: Halloween Discussion - Students were told that they could bring their costumes on Halloween if they wish. Costumes will be worn in the afternoon (time will be given AFTER lunch) to change. No weapons are allowed (no foam swords, plastic knives, foam/plastic nunchucks, etc...). Hoods and masks are okay so long as when any teacher asks, the student removes it. There will be a costume parade at 12:45 in the gym, and then there will be a few activities (like Math games, and board games, some arts and crafts, etc...). If the student doesn't want to bring their costume, they are welcome to bring their pjs to school and be in them for the afternoon. There will be no sweets, treats, or sugar candy given out...I'm sure they'll have more than enough later on...
October 29th, 2019
- I apologize for not updating my site on Friday and Monday. I was away on Friday and Monday was very busy. I have updated the site today. If you would like to know what we did today, please click on the What We Learned/Practiced tab at the top of the page.

October 22nd, 2019
- If you ordered From the Ground Up veggie boxes, you can come down to the school to pick them up by 6 PM. The side gym doors (to the right of the main entrance should be open). A teacher can help you locate your boxes. We thank you for your patience while waiting.
October 21st, 2019

October 18th, 2019
- Thank you to all the parents who came to help lace up skates! I apologize for not inviting parents to the skate. I was pulled away for professional development workshops and union collaboration and I didn't keep up with my site. This next week I will be posting again back to normal and ensure the site is kept current. Thank you for understanding.
- On September 18th, I sent out an email to all parents on my email contact list, as well as posted on this site my expectations on toys. To reiterate:
October 7th, 2019
- Students will be swimming Thursday, October 10th, and skating on Oct. 19th. If you have not done so, please send the permission forms for both as soon as possible (the money can come later). Thank you.
October 3rd, 2019
- Students took home today a bunch of hand-outs. One is for their Mathletics account (which features a QR code that can be used if the camera is enabled), their Prodigy math game login, and two permission forms. One permission form is for a Recreational Swim on October 10th, and the other is for a Recreational Skate on October 18th. The swim will cost $4 (swim & busing fee), and the skate cost is $4 (skate & busing fee). Rental for skates is extra, and will cost $4 cash. Helmets are mandatory (your child will not be let on the ice without a helmet). The school has some helmets and skates that might fit your child.
- Both Mathletics and Prodigy Math can be used at home in the evening or weekends if you wish. It is not mandatory. Prodigy math should be supervised as it can 'jump grade' level questions. It is not always exact. By clicking on the lightbulb above the question, it will offer an explanation that students (and parents) can use to help their child. This is meant to be a fun activity that helps students practice math concepts in a fun way. If it becomes too onerous and/or stressful, that is totally fine. Students will have plenty of opportunity to practice at school in a supervised setting.
- We are still collecting non-perishable food items for the city-wide Food Drive. If you have any non-perishable items to donate, send them with your child. Thank you.
September 30th, 2019
- We have started our Holy Family Food Drive. If your family has any non-perishable foods items (soup cans, cans of tuna, oatmeal, etc...) and you can donate them, we'd be happy to take them and drop them off at the food bank. Thank you in advance.
September 20th, 2019
- Swim Lessons are over for this year. All the following swims will be recreational swims. Thank you to all the parents who helped by sending their children with the proper attire.
- Have a great weekend!
September 19th, 2019
- We will be swimming Friday. Please ensure that your child has their swim gear, as well as a few extra snacks. Students should not bring money to buy treats at the Canada Games Centre as this creates a lot of jealousy and envy (and tears) for those that didn't bring money. Thank you for understanding.
- Please ensure that all toys, stuffies (sic), pokemon cards, action figures, wallets, key chains, toy cars, etc... stay at home. If children bring them, they can check them in with me and I will keep it in a safe place for the day. They will receive their item at the end of the day. If children are caught playing with any of these items, they (the toys, not the child) will go to what we have dubbed 'Toy Jail', where it may remain until the High Toy Court makes it final ruling. There are stuffy days, etc...but the teacher will send an email and a note (as well as post on this site) before it happens. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

September 13th, 2019
- We will be swimming again on Tuesday. Your child does not need to bring a swim suit and towel on Monday (however, if they want to bring it on Monday and leave it at their hook until Tuesday, that is okay).
- Have a safe and relax weekend!
September 12th, 2019
- We will be swimming tomorrow morning again. We will also be swimming each day next week (except Monday).
September 11th, 2019

September 10th, 2019
- Dear Grade 2 parents/guardians; I apologize for the short notice. Grade 2 students will be participating in swimming lessons for the next two weeks. We will be swimming this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, then on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week. The money can wait, but the permission form cannot unfortunately. The bus will leave here at 8:50. Students who are late will have to stay at the school, or be dropped off at the pool by 9 AM. Please ensure that your child has their swim gear as well as some extra snacks. If previous experience has taught me anything is that the students will be hungry when the get back to the school. Students are not allowed to buy things from the vending machines, nor from Subway or Booster Juice. Thank you for your understanding.
September 6th, 2019
- Thank you to all the parents/guardians who came to last night's brief information session. If you missed it, feel free to contact me through this site or at the school.
- On Monday, we will begin our School Wide Write. Grade 2's theme this fall is "3 favourite things to do and why". If you have an opportunity, please engage your child in a brief discussion on what they like (hobbies, food, stuffies, etc...) and why they like it (what does it make them feel when they are doing doing one of their favourite activities?). FYI: its not enough to write "I like to play video games because they are fun and awesome!" (I want to know why they are 'fun and awesome'.)
September 5th, 2019
- Reminder: Today my classroom will be open from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM for parent-teacher dialogue on this school year (expectations, rewards, contact info, FreshGrade, etc...).
September 4th, 2019
- Reminder: Thursday, September 5th, at 6 PM I will be having a brief parent meeting to introduce myself, my expectations, and FreshGrade. I'd love to see you if possible. If not, it is okay; I will send along any pertinent information with students home the following days.
September 3rd, 2019
- I hope you all had a great long weekend.

August 30th, 2019
- On Thursday, Sept. 5th, 2019 I will be holding a "Meet the Teacher" night. I invite all parents and guardians to come to the Grade 2 classroom at 6 PM for a brief discussion on the my expectations, what kinds of things we will be learning in Grade 2 and of a discussion on FreshGrade (a digital student portfolio that parents can see at home). I hope you all can make it. I look forward to meeting all of you.
August 26th, 2019
- Tomorrow it is supposed to rain. Please ensure your child has outdoor and indoor shoes and proper clothing, as they will be sent outside for recess.
August 23rd 2019
- Please ensure that your child has both indoor and outdoor shoes. We are heading towards the fall and it will more than likely be rainy and wet soon. Indoor and outdoor shoes keep the school clean. Thank you for your cooperation. Have a great weekend!
August 22nd, 2019
- There was a mix up with the planners. The ones we sent home yesterday were meant to go to the Kindergarten class. Grade 2 will be using the smaller planners (the one with the moose on the cover) for the rest of the school year. If your child read as part of a home reading program, please be aware that the time they read was recorded this morning on a tally sheet. We apologize for the confusion.
August 22st, 2019
- Thank you to all the students and parents who made today a wonderful first day at school.
- Please ensure that your child will be able to bring some inexpensive headphones to the class. They will stored in the corner and we will use them for tumblebooks when we do guided reading.
June 14th, 2019
- A big thank you to all the parental support throughout this year. It was a pleasure teaching your children. I wish them the best in Grade 3.
- Have a fantastic, safe, and great summer. See you in August!
June 13th, 2019
- Hello Grade 2 Parents and Guardians. Just a reminder that we will be participating in the Grades 2 - 7 swim. Please ensure that your child has their swim gear before getting on the bus/leaving for school. It would be sad to see your child sitting by a bunch of boring teachers for the entire afternoon...
June 11th, 2019
- Hello Grade 2 Parents and Guardians. Just two friendly reminders: One - It is still raining outside on and off. If possible, please include extra socks, a rain jacket, etc...A lot of students (from all grades) came today without even a sweater. Two - We are swimming tomorrow at 9 AM. Please ensure that your child has their swim gear before they leave for school. Thank you.
June 7th, 2019
- Thank you to all the parents who provide snacks for our year-end class party. They were delicious.
- There will be no school on Monday, June 10th. Have a great long weekend!
June 6th, 2019
- Tomorrow, as there are enough class points for an afternoon party, Grade 2 will have an afternoon party. This will consist of stuffys (sic), and a movie (the movie will be a VeggieTales movie). IF students (and parents) want to bring snacks, they may. I realize this is short notice. But I want to stress that providing snacks is NOT mandatory - veggies and dip are fine, cookies are fine, chips, etc...as long as it is nut free. You do not have spend all night baking...I will provide some snacks.
June 5th, 2019
- Students took home two permission forms between yesterday and today. The pink one is for swimming with Grade 6 on the morning of Wednesday, June 12th. The green one is for the Grade 1 - 7 "All School" swim. I apologize for the short notice. As long as students have their forms in on the 'day of', they will be allowed to go.
June 3rd, 2019:
- Tomorrow we will go to Whistle Bend Care Home for the final time this year. As we may play outside at a park, it may rain. Please dress your child appropriately. Thank you.
May 30th, 2019:
One question that I get asked is "Is this necessary? Does my child HAVE to bring money?". The answer, of course, is no. This is at your discretion.
I will go over expectations and rules tomorrow morning after prayer.
Thank you, and if you have any comments, concerns, etc...please let me know ASAP. I will try to check my email by 9:30 AM tomorrow.
- I'm letting you all know that tomorrow is our last day of swim lessons. I have mentioned that students are allowed to bring money to buy something small from the vending machine. There are a few rules however. They are as follows:
- Limit is $5.00.
- NO Booster Juice or Subway.
- Nothing with peanuts, hazelnuts, cashews, etc... We all work and play in a school where students can have a deathly allergic reaction to Nutella, so please be mindful of this.
- ABSOLUTELY NO eating on the bus.
- If your child is taking a bus, they must either consume it between waiting for their home bus and getting on the homeward bound bus, or wait to have it at home.
- Litter must be disposed of properly.
- NO sharing treats/money.
- NO borrowing money from others. This makes it uncomfortable to say no to a friend (or the threat of 'If you give me money I'll be your best friend').

May 29th, 2019
- I'm sorry to inform you that this Friday's Student Celebration of Learning will not be happening in Grade 2. Unfortunately, we have our last swim lesson, and we will not return until 3 PM.
- There will be a BBQ hosted by School Council between 3 and 5. I will be around and my classroom will be open. Your child is welcome to come in and show the work they have done since the last celebration of learning we had; if not, you will see it in the last week when they bring their binders home.
- On a final note, I just wanted you all to know how much I enjoyed teaching your children this school year. It's been an honour and privilege.
May 28th, 2019
- We will be continuing our Learn to Swim Grade 2 lessons all this week. We will be swimming on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please ensure that your child has all their swim gear (towels, swim suit, and goggles if they need them). Thank you.
May 27th, 2019
- We will be continuing our swimming lessons tomorrow in the afternoon. We will be swimming on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Please ensure that your child has the proper swim gear.
- As we are swimming on Friday, Grade 2s will miss their celebration of learning. There will be a free family bbq on Friday from 3 - 5 PM. All are welcome.
May 23rd, 2019
- Please remind your child to take their swim suit and towel home. They are welcome to bring it back cleaned and in a bag on Monday. We will NOT be swimming on Monday, but it may be easier to leave it here on Monday so that it is ready for Tuesday (and we don't have to disturb you at work).
May 21st, 2019
- We will be swimming each day (except Mondays) for the next two weeks. Please ensure that your child has their swim gear. Students are encouraged to hang their swim suits at their hook at the end of the day. They will be dried by the next time we go swimming.
May 17th, 2019
- Have a great (and safe) long weekend.
- Tuesday, the Grade 2 class will begin their swim lessons. If students are not participating in the swim lessons, they are encouraged to bring a book while they wait for the other students to finish their lesson.
May 13th, 2019

May 6th, 2019

May 1st, 2019
- Please be aware that students are often taken outside for gym when the weather is nice. This is in addition to regular outside recesses. It was suggested the be PE teacher that students may want to bring a hat to protect themselves from the sun, or apply sunscreen 30 minutes before gym.
April 25th, 2019
- Tomorrow afternoon, Grade 2 will be visiting the Whistlebend Care Facility for the second time. We will share our unique gifts with seniors and they will share stories with us. Students are allowed to bring one or two small items that they may want to talk about with the seniors. It was suggested that they could bring something special (NOT Lego, Playmobile, or other pre-made toys), like something from their parents or grandparents heritage, or a cool rock, or their favourite stuffy (I know that's a toy, but its different...).
- Tomorrow is Pizza Lunch, but students are still expected to bring snacks for recess.
April 24th, 2019
- Thank you to all the students (participants and viewers) and parents who were able to stop by the Wrestling (mini) Tournament.
April 23rd, 2019
- Please ensure that your child is appropriately dressed for the weather. There are still a lot of students coming to school with just a hoodie. It has been decidedly 'autumnal' lately (windy and wet). Students will be outside for PE tomorrow.
- Tomorrow (April 24th, 2019), we will have a Wrestling Mini-Tournament. Grade 2 students who are interested in participating (and attended practices), will be competing against 2 other schools. The competition will be from 12:30 to 2:30. Parents are welcome to watch. Contact the school for more information.
