Every child deserves to learn in a fun, safe, nurturing, and exploratory environment. Every child matters, all the time.
"Being present means living in the moment. It means realizing that...yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift - that's why we call it the present!" - Rana DiOrio from the book What Does it Mean to be Present.
About the Teacher
My name is Lionel Colaci. I have a passion for teaching. I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's of Education from the University of Regina. I completed my Masters in Education in May 2018 from the University of Northern British Columbia with a GPA of 3.99.
After working for a spell as the Teacher-Librarian at Holy Family, I worked as the Grade 7 teacher for three years. During that time, I was fortunate to be asked to participate in the Foundational Skills Assessment (FSA) redesign with the BC Ministry of Education. I have been a Math consultant with the BC Ministry of Education since 2014 and continue to work on the FSA redesign.
My interests include: Reading, Writing, Film, Music, Art, geeky & nerdy stuff, technology & coding, and, of course, ties, real bowties, and cardigans. And cool socks. And chess. Oh, and Math, of course.
I look forward to most days and the (most of the) challenges it brings.
